A One Day Workshop with Kristin Osborn
Working with depressed clients is anxiety producing and it is natural for clinicians to emotionally detach and focus on controlling symptoms and maintaining safety. Learn how and when to take the next step with confidence and competence. We’ll show you how infusing your work with compassion and closeness will empower your clients to access their emotions and leave their symptoms behind.
You’ll learn how to treat depressed and anxious clients in a compassionate step-wise manner that cultivates the therapeutic alliance. You’ll learn how to activate your clients seeking system through the use of play and positive affects. You’ll learn when your patient is ready to access warded-off emotions that will help them relinquish their symptoms. At the end of the workshop you will be able to apply Affect Phobia Therapy interventions in your own clinical work with patients suffering from depression.
