Neuroscience, attachment and psychotherapy research indicates that the therapeutic alliance is at the heart of treatment. Learn a step-by-step approach on how to cultivate an authentic relationship with your client without encouraging compliance, dependency or a therapeutic rupture. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to assess your client’s capacity for closeness so you can intervene where they are at rather then where you want them to be. You’ll learn how and why your own capacity for closeness is an essential aspect of this ‘give and take’ process. You’ll learn ways to mindfully apply interventions and make therapeutic decisions that help you resonate more fully with your clients. By the end of this workshop, you’ll feel more comfortable being yourself ‘in session’ and trust it will improve the quality and effectiveness of your work.
